Its easy to explain why this record is so important to me...
My earliest childhood memory belongs to this record
We had a 7" copy of this
I remember perfectly how the record was placed in this "suitecase"
record player we had...and then the arm would automatically go
towards the record....
stop on top of it...then a gentle landding
and then this frenetic synthetic hipnotic melody of fun would
burst out of the speakers....Thats what it would take to make
me happy. Maybe this record is to blame for my obsessive record collecting habit!

"Popcorn" by Hot Butter was my earliest childhood memory....it made me want
to try "on" our record player other 45's that where around our house
including this masterpiece written by wonderful songwriter Shamaiezadeh
A mega production with full-band orchestra...Jaddeh is an epic ballad
while "Kieh Kieh" is a sing-a-long memorable "brass" heavy uptempo number.

Recorded in the 1980's in the USA after the horrible 1979 revolution.
She has a very operatic whale voice of major proportions
with a very clear sound. Her music was really updated
in these recordings. The lyrics contain a lot of furry and desperation towards
what was happening in Iran. Example: "aay ey khodaa kamak kon" " oh god help"
"man bi sedaa nabaasham" "so that I won't be without a voice" "taarikhe eshgh raa"
"so that the history of Love" "baa asheghaan bekhaanam" "with the lovers I can sing"

Released in France by this drummer, this was a conceptual Disco song
Occupying the whole A side of the LP
An instrumental masterpiece...I had never heard a 'bass-drum' so laoud!!
A ground breaking classic...took a year before Atlantic records
picked it up. Grammy for best instrumental.
Love the girl talk at the beginning. Make sure you get the "full" version
of the recording.
